Season 8 Episode 3

"Charity Case"
The episode opens with a man dropping million dollar check to an aid organization  then walking out. We quickly learn he is the patient because he passes out in the street.

House cut his hair. Thirteen is back at the hospital asking House to stop calling her. She says she's not a doctor anymore and is leaving for Greece with her new girlfriend.

Now doctor #2, Dr. Adams, makes her first appearance in the hospital this episode. House pushes just the right buttons to recruit the former prison doctor to volunteer her time and expertise to the case. She is talking with the patient and when he starts talking about being generous and nice to other people
. . .  BAM Tachycardia.

House's motives are finally revealed. He wants to con the overly generous patient to financially support his diagnostic team, since House is currently working for minimum wage with only one hired team member (Yi). The patient offers House a million dollars; Wilson tells House not to accept anything from a sick patient and Foreman says no and orders House to release patient.

We meet the patient's wife. They are separated and she won't go see him. They have two sons and the patient reveals they have two sons. He has a kind heart and pays child support because he "can't justify buying video games when other kids are starving."
. . . BAM Seizure.

Dr. Park has very flared nostrils that flare more when she talks. Its very distracting
Dr. Adams gave Dr. Park a cup of coffee, which she couldn't handle not paying her back. Dr. Adams tries to give her something else(and more expensive). Dr. Park say she can't take it because she can't pay her back for it. Dr. Adams insists that she keep it without paying her back. Dr. Park replies, "You do know I punched the last person that pissed me off?"

Patient offers a kidney to Wilson's patient. House insisting his patient is worse. Dr. Park agrees. Wilson and Dr. Adams thinks he's just being nice. Thirteen is back to help by giving an awesome differential.. which later turns out to be wrong.

Ha! Dr. Park set up an interview for Dr. Adams just to get rid of her.The patient is ready to donate a kidney. . . . BAM Tachycardia . . . again.
I REALLY don't like Foreman being the new Dean.
He's acting like a JERK and tried to pull House off the case.

There is internal tension between the two new doctors.
This should be an interesting season.

The patient's wife shows up.
Thirteen tricks the patient into being generous towards her
(fakes a kidney disease)
and he says he will give away BOTH kidneys . . .
This guy is crazy.

House’s office is now located next to an orthopedic casting suite, so the background ambience is constantly filled with a drill removing casts. House gets irritated and breaks the drill.
Ha. Classic.

Thirteen is feeling guilty about leaving medicine to have fun.
Wilson's kidney patient died.
House's patient has Plumber’s disease — a nodule on thyroid that's releasing extra hormones that are affecting his behavior. The patient wont give House money now so House pulls a guilt trip.

Dr. Adams finally gets Yi to accept a gift and say thank you.
HA. House and Yi conned her in to fixing Yi's car for her.
This is going to be a great season.

House says Thirteen is fired ..wait?
She was re-hired? Did I miss that?

The next episode is in two weeks.
It will be a Halloween episode and actually air on Halloween.

Season 8 Episode 2

"Transplant"

So, I missed the first five minutes of this episode
because of stupid Terra Nova.
Soooo I missed the introduction of the new Dean of Medicine,
I missed the introduction of the new doctor,
I missed House getting out of jail,
and I missed the introduction to the case.
Of ALL episodes to miss the first five minutes
(and the one time that I actually miss the first five minutes),
of course  it's this super important one.

The end of last week's episode left a few loose ends and cliffhangers like:
*House's legal "issues"
*the two new female doctors
*Cuddy is gone
*the friendship of Wilson and House on the rocks

The second episode of the season didn't really address the legal issues
(although it could have happened in the five minutes I missed).

The new doctor, Charlyne Li, made her first appearance of the season
as a resident for House and will eventually join his (new) team.
I like her.
She is quirky and awkward but unexpected at times.
The other new doctor, who House met in prison,
will make her appearance on the next episode.

Sadly, Cuddy is gone.
So far I haven't heard any mention on the show of why she left
(even though its obvious).
The new Dean of Medicine is Foreman.
Ew. I hate it.
He is being an arrogant jerk because he know he has power over House.
I was so hoping they would bring in a
new person or promote Cameron or Wilson.

On the bright side,
the friendship of Wilson and House seems to be getting back on track.
All it took was a right hook from Wilson to open House's eyes.
Ha. That was epic.

The case was a pair of lungs in a box.
Yeah. Lungs in a box.
A patient of Wilson's needed new lungs
and they broke House out of jail because they needed him
to cure the lungs so Wilson can use them.
Of course he did.
And Wilson's patient get a new set of lungs.

Can't wait to see what the next new episode brings.
And I will NOT miss the first five minutes.

Love Story

Surely, by now everyone has heard "Love Story" by Taylor Swift.
If you haven't heard it, you must live under a rock.

-----
"Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone
I'll be waiting all there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It's a love story baby just say yes."
-----
"Romeo save me, they try to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it's real
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess
It's a love story baby just say yes"
-----

Now I want to share my love story.

I was first chair in middle school band and everyone (including me)
was expecting me to easily get first chair in high school as well.
But when we had auditions, I got second.
SECOND.
I was soooo upset . . .
especially when I found out I was beaten
by a BOY from the other middle school.
His name was Aaron.
And I hated him.
Today, I'm engaged to him.

The first few days of band class I would not even speak to him,
much less look at him.
But over time I got over it and
we started talking and eventually became friends.
Well were we in band all four years of high school together
so Aaron ended up becoming one of my best friends.
We started dating in November 2007 during our junior year.
We graduated high school in 2009 and went to different colleges
but that only made our relationship stronger.

Aaron proposed on June 2, 2011,
right around our three and a half year anniversary.
He took me on a picnic to Berry and we sat near Swan Lake.
There were lots of ducks that kept following us around .
We were sitting there eating and he said he had a song
he wanted to play for me to see if I recognize it.
Then we were looking at the clouds and he started to play it.
I listened a minute and realized it was an instrumental
version of our song, "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain.
Then he asks if I want to dance.
Well of course I didn't really want to because there
were other people around and
we would be dancing in a field to music
they couldn't hear.
So I kinda felt stupid but stood up anyways.
How could I say no?
Once it had been a few seconds it was okay.
It was pretty nice.
But my mind was thinking about those people watching us.
So I was a little caught off guard when he says
"Is that my heart beating? I guess I'm just nervous"
Then I noticed his heart was beating quite rapidly and I could feel it.
I asked why he's nervous.
The music stopped.
Coming from the speakers, I hear his voice.
He's saying all these really sweet things and quoting our song.
I was so confused and so focused on listening to what he was saying
that I don't even know what Aaron was doing during all of this.
I was staring at the grass.
Soaking in every word he said.
Then the recording says "And now I have a question for you.."
He dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring box.
As he opened the ring box, the ring fell over.
He fumbled around and fixed it.
"Will you marry me?"
I have never seen him so nervous.
I was noticing it now because he mentioned it.
I think it's funny that he was so nervous.
Was he afraid I might say no?
Of course I said yes.

It's a love story baby just say yes.

Season 8 Premiere: Twenty Vicodin

The season premiere of House MD's eighth season aired Monday night (Oct 3).
It was great.
House is in jail.
And getting bullied.
And being squeezed to give part of his daily Vicodin dose to other guys
(the episode is titled Twenty Vicodin).
At the end of the seventh season, he drove his car into Cuddy's house
and then fled the country for three months.
The episode opens with House sitting before a board
considering releasing him early after eight months
of a one year prison sentence for "goodish behavior."
So typical House. Perfect description.
He was only going to be locked up for five days then be released on parole.
But . . . knowing House,
of course he does something to mess that up on the day he's supposed to leave.
We are introduced to the new cast member,
Odette Annable as Dr. Jessica Adams, the prison doctor.
He offers his expertise at the prison clinic while cleaning it,
but ends up getting Dr. Adams (and himself) in trouble.
Now he's in solitary confinement for six more months.
But maybe not . . .
The preview for next week's episode gave the impression that Foreman
is busting him out early because they need his help on a case.
And it looks like his friendship with Wilson has hit rock-bottom.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode.
Well, I enjoy every episode
...and usually end up squealing like a five year old girl.
So maybe I'm not the critic.

But it will definitely be interesting how the season plays out with:
*House's legal "issues"
*the two new female doctors
*Cuddy gone
*the friendship of Wilson and House on the rocks
